BigQuery

Connecting BigQuery with GrowthLoop is a common use case, which allows you to visually build your audience segments in GrowthLoop and send them to Big

Try GrowthLoop and BigQuery

Why use GrowthLoop and BigQuery?

BigQuery is a Google Cloud Platform-based data warehouse solution, which offers tools to store, analyze, and share data for organizations. Google is a leader in data analytics tools and has a strong track record. Using BigQuery gives your existing tools access to your data stack, providing fast time-to-value.

Connecting your GrowthLoop account to your BigQuery data warehouse allows you to create and manage audiences using GrowthLoop’s tools, and then store them or send them to other tools for all of your marketing needs.

GrowthLoop is a BigQuery Partner, and GrowthLoop is available on the Google Cloud Marketplace.

Common use cases for GrowthLoop and BigQuery

Common use cases for a GrowthLoop and BigQuery integration include:

Analyze cohorts

Easily create a cohort of customers using GrowthLoop’s drag-and-drop audience builder. Send this audience to Snowflake for further analysis.

Research for new products

Before bringing your new product to market, you need to show the potential revenue, starting with your existing customers. Build an audience of customers who purchased a similar product. Send this audience to Snowflake for further analysis.

Google compatability

BigQuery is run by Google, so it natively works with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and all other Google products. Rather than going through a third-party solution, you can use BigQuery tools to store the data and then select the tools or users to access the data.

Feed data to internally developed systems from BQ

If your marketing team uses an internally developed system (like an email, product pop-ups, reporting, or something else) and it doesn’t have an API or similar connector that GrowthLoop can use as a destination, you can send the audience to BigQuery to then activate in your internal tool using the existing data pipeline.

ML and AI tools

BigQuery works with a variety of tools that use machine learning (ML) algorithms to automate various functions in your marketing processes.

How to set up GrowthLoop and BigQuery

Connecting these two solutions allows you to visually build segments in GrowthLoop, and sync them to a BigQuery table. To get started, you'll need an audience in GrowthLoop, a BigQuery data warehouse with a dataset, a BigQuery service account, and a BigQuery JSON key.

Step 1

In BigQuery, do a quick search for the Service Accounts settings page. Click + Create Service Account

Step 2

Enter an Account Name and Account Description that will help your teams identify this account later. Make a note of the Account Name.

Step 3

Give your account Editor access to BigQuery.

Step 4

Return to the Service Accounts page and click your new service account in the list.

Step 5

Select the Keys tab and click Create new key. Select JSON and click Create. Save the file somewhere you can find it later.

Step 6

Go to Destinations in the GrowthLoop platform.

Step 7

Search for and select BigQuery.

Step 8

Configure the Destination based on your needs. Enter the Dataset you want to use. Copy and paste the JSON file into the Credentials field. Choose the Columns to export.

Step 9

Click Create to connect the accounts. You can verify the connection by checking the Destinations page in GrowthLoop.

See more step-by-step detail in GrowthLoop’s BigQuery documentation.
